As we approach the middle of the year, there are a bunch of updates we’d like to let you know about! We’ll get to these shortly. But first, we wanted to let you know that we’ve added six software developers to our team. This will have a huge impact on our ability to improve Cliniko, which is always our top priority, and you’ll start to see the benefits in the coming months—stay tuned!

On that note, we’re also looking to add an operations engineer to our team! The security, reliability, and performance of Cliniko are paramount to us, and we’re seeking someone with passion and skills in this area. If this sounds like you or someone you know, you can read more about the opportunity and apply here. Applications close on the 27th of May, 2024 AEST.

We have some other news to share with you, too!

Features

  • You can now add multiple billable items and products to a single appointment type, which will help make invoicing quicker than ever! After adding each item within the appointment type settings, any invoice generated from that appointment on your calendar will be automatically populated with the items you’ve selected, so you won’t need to manually add extras. You can even add default quantities and discounts when setting it up, so if a certain appointment will always need to have multiples of the same item or have a reduced price, it can be customised from the start.
  • If you’ve ever needed a quick, at-a-glance view of which appointments have completed treatment notes, there’s a handy report for this! The treatment note completion report will let you easily see which appointments have finalised notes.
  • Email and SMS reminders can now be sent up to 9 days before an appointment, allowing you to give your patients more lead time.

Practice management tips

  • If you’re on the fence about offering telehealth appointments, we explore five reasons why it’s worthwhile to implement it into your practice. Not only can it be more convenient for your patients, but it can foster clinic growth, as well.
  • Exhibiting at conferences can be a huge boost for your business, but is it worth it from a marketing standpoint? We’ve had displays at a number of conferences over the years, and we’ve learned a lot. If you’re considering a booth of your own, check out our list of must-haves and what has made conferences a worthwhile experience for Cliniko.
  • Is free software truly free? There might be hidden costs, and it’s important to do your research and make an informed decision before signing up for anything.

Company culture

  • Fostering authenticity in your workplace allows for genuine connections between team members, improved mental health, and more personal accountability. It’s a process that can take time, especially when many people are used to putting on a “business persona” during work hours, but we think the long-term effects are worth it.
  • Offering your employees extended leave (if you’re able to) can have positive effects on their personal well being, but also on their workplace morale and contributions. At Cliniko, “bonus leave” is offered every five years, and our teammate Jason shares his experience.

Cliniko tips

  • Whether you’re new to Cliniko or have been around for a while, you may want to check out the Cliniko Course video playlist series. Rachel will walk you through the steps of getting your account set up and running so that you can start booking patients in no time!
  • Patient cases can help you organise appointments and keep track of treatment progress, such as how many times you’ve seen someone from a particular referral or condition.
  • If you need to have your patients provide information before their appointment, you can send secure forms that they can fill out online, digitally sign, and submit back to you!

Featured app

If you’re looking for a one-stop shop for your practice insights, you may be interested in Reportabl.! It integrates with Cliniko (along with your website, social media, and accounting software) and can be used to view your clinic’s key metrics in one place, helping you save time on reporting and keep your focus on your patients’ care.

In conclusion

Thank you, as always, for your continued support—you are the reason we get to do what we love, which is making software. The recent growth of our development team also means that we can jump right into working on new projects and features, and we can’t wait to share these with you. Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you next time with another round of updates and news!
