Use forms to automatically update your patient details!

The information in your forms can now be connected with the details for each patient to minimise the need for manual data entry.

Your patients’ details in Cliniko can now be automatically updated when they fill out a form! This means that you’ll no longer need to carry across the information from a form into your existing records yourself—Cliniko will do it for you.

This change to Cliniko will save you time when it comes to data entry and reduce the chance of errors in your records. It also creates a smoother experience for your returning patients, as they can simply check and update their existing details, rather than having to fill out a new one from scratch (yet again). You can also customise your forms to ask the specific questions that you want and then connect them, so the most relevant information ends up in your patients’ file.

As always, security is our top priority at Cliniko, and this change includes safeguards to protect any sensitive information.

This is how it works:

  • ⚙️ Automatic updating: you’ll first need to set up your form templates to allow this change, and from then onwards Cliniko will automatically carry across the patient’s data into the relevant section of their details.
  • 📝 Pre-filled forms: returning patients will see their existing details (like address, phone number, emergency contact details, gender identity, and pronouns) and can update these from any device, instead of re-entering the same details each time on a fresh form.
  • 🔒 Verification: your patients will be asked to complete an easy verification process to ensure that their information is only accessible by them.
