SST Trainer

SST Trainer is a clinical tool for practitioners managing concussion, post-concussion syndrome, and graded return to sport and activity. It is used by physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, and exercise physiologists. It is built on graded sub-symptom threshold exertion principles.

What it does

Clinicians run heart-rate-based rehab sessions with each patient tracked against their own baseline, so progression decisions come from objective session data rather than symptom recall. At clearance, the tool generates a GP clearance letter and, where needed, an insurer or scheme report (including ACC formats for New Zealand clinics) from the recorded session history. Reports that previously took twenty to thirty minutes to write are produced in a couple of minutes, then reviewed and signed by the treating practitioner.

How it integrates with Cliniko

The integration is authorised with a Cliniko API key created by the practice. The practitioner selects an existing Cliniko patient and runs the session in that context. Session summaries and generated documents are synced back to the patient's record. The integration reads patient and appointment details only, writes documents to the patient record only, and never creates, modifies or deletes patients or appointments. It does not touch the calendar.

Data handling

Session data is stored in Australia and encrypted in transit and at rest. Patient data is not sold or used for any purpose other than delivering the tool. Details are available in SST's privacy policy.

Training

The tool works standalone. Optional certification courses in concussion management and rehabilitation are available through Concussion Education Australia (endorsed by Osteopathy Australia; an ESSA-approved professional development provider). Course enrolment includes twelve months of tool access.
