DermEngine

DermEngine is a dermatology imaging and clinical platform. Connected to Cliniko, it lets clinics open a patient in DermEngine from Cliniko, keep demographics in sync, and send skin reports back into the patient’s Cliniko files without retyping records.

Cliniko stays the practice management system. DermEngine handles imaging, lesion tracking, and dermatology documentation.

Open a patient from Cliniko

Once connected, each Cliniko patient page includes an "Open in DermEngine" button. This allows you to:

• Quickly get into DermEngine
• Create or update the matching DermEngine patient
• Open that patient’s record so imaging and review can start immediately

There is no need to copy and paste any information from Cliniko, reducing the chances of data transcripton errors, as everything stays in sync, automatically.

Send reports back to Cliniko

After documentation has been completed in DermEngine, clinicians can export it all to Cliniko. The patient timeline PDF is attached to that patient’s files in Cliniko, so the report sits with the rest of the clinical record.

How it integrates

Setup takes a few minutes and uses Cliniko’s standard tools:

• In DermEngine, go to Settings > Integrations, paste your Cliniko API key (from My Info > Manage API keys), and connect.
• In Cliniko, go to Settings > Integrations > Connected patient apps, and add the details provided by DermEngine.

The API key is stored encrypted in DermEngine. Cliniko remains the source of patient identity; DermEngine links the two records and does not replace Cliniko.

What data is synced

From Cliniko into DermEngine (when a patient is opened):

• Name, date of birth, sex
• Email, phone numbers, address
• Medicare number

From DermEngine into Cliniko:

• Patient timeline and skin report PDF
• Appointments, invoices, and treatment notes stay in Cliniko and are not overwritten.
