August 2015 - Cliniko Recent Updates

Emily Gable·

Well, do we have some updates to share! It’s nearing the end of August and the entire Cliniko team has been hard at work, updating bits and pieces of the program to be better than ever (and adding a few new features, as well!). There have been a lot of updates, big and small, so here’s just a little summary of what we’ve been up to.

  • We’ve added a notification for Privacy Mode on the calendar — if you’ve ever accidentally engaged Privacy Mode, it can be a bit of a shock to see your Patient names hidden from the calendar! Now it’s much more clear when you’re entering (or leaving) Privacy Mode.
  • Stock Adjustments now display on the Products page.
  • We’ve added a Data Export for Billable Items.
  • Calendar preferences are now saved on a per-browser basis.
  • Currency support has been added for the Pakistani Rupee.
  • We updated our support site! The content is still the same, but it’s more aesthetically pleasing, and the subscription preferences are more in-depth!
  • Some users were experiencing Patient names not displaying correctly on the calendar, despite Privacy Mode being turned off. This has been fixed.
  • The “Appointments” data export now includes a column called “Source.” This indicates whether the appointment was made via Online Bookings or not.
  • When selecting or deselecting Practitioners on the Appointments page, the selection wasn’t always working correctly. This has been fixed.
  • We upgraded our support phone system, and have new numbers to be reached at. They can be found on our website!
  • You can now see the time and date of when a Patient was archived.
  • There was a bug which prevented a Practitioner’s external calendar feed from displaying properly if they had one or more Unavailable Blocks on their calendar. This has been fixed!
  • We made some behind-the-scenes changes to how we load calendar data, which were designed to speed up the load time of the calendar.
  • We redesigned the tables in most areas of Cliniko — the functionality is the same, but as we move towards making the system responsive, certain elements (such as tables) need to be scalable on all devices. Redesigning the tables is another step towards a fully-responsive Cliniko!
  • We fixed a bug which was preventing people from being able to create a new Invoice with a negative quantity in the Product line.
  • The Upcoming Birthday report now includes the Patient’s email address!
  • We made some adjustments to the widths of tables and columns in Reports and Invoices to result in a better, cleaner user experience.
  • As a measure to ensure quality on Android devices, we’ve defaulted Cliniko to be “zoomed out” on all Android browsers. This will replicate iOS behavior and make it easier to navigate.
  • We added 2 Factor Authentication to Cliniko! This optional setting allows you to add additional security to your Cliniko account by requiring a couple of additional factors when logging in (your smartphone and an additional access code) to ensure that it’s actually you that’s logging in.
  • We changed the appearance of the sign-in page for the mobile version of Cliniko. It now looks exactly like the sign-in page for the normal application, and also supports 2 Factor Authentication.
  • We fixed an issue in which deleting an appointment was subsequently deleting an associated invoice. This has been changed, and now when an appointment is deleted, any associated invoices will remain.
  • We’ve added Recalls into the system! You can now create a Recall list so that you can contact Patients for follow-up visits. The Recalls feature allows you to set different Recall Types, and you can set a default duration (i.e. 3 months) or set a custom Recall date on a per-Patient basis.
  • We made a small improvement to Online Bookings. If you have more than one category for your Appointment Types, the Online Bookings will display just the categories, and then Patients will have the option to select and expand the category to see what falls under it. This makes the user experience of the Online Bookings page much easier if there are a lot of categories!
  • We changed a bit of wording on the login page. Previously, there was a checkbox that said “Remember me.” This was causing some confusion about login functionality, so we changed the verbiage to say “Keep me logged in on this device,” which is more applicable.
  • We added placeholders for Practitioner phone numbers. These can be used when setting up appointment reminders and letters.
  • There was an incorrect indication that SMS messages had been sent to the home phone number of a Patient. As SMS messages should only be sent to mobile numbers, we’ve changed this, and now SMS messages will only be marked as “sent” if they go out to the mobile number.
  • Some users were experiencing the “black screen of death” — this happened if an Unavailable Block was created, and then you immediately clicked into an Appointment (it was displaying as black and no Appointment details were showing!). This has been fixed!
  • You can now rename the heading on Account Statements!
  • We’ve added Dutch titles for customers located in the Netherlands.
  • Our notification emails have been improved — look for these if you get an email regarding a password reset request or if your account is locked due to too many login attempts!
  • We added a referral program! Now, if you’re a Cliniko user, you can generate a special referral link to share with your friends and colleagues who wish to try Cliniko. When they sign up with that link, you (and they!) will be eligible for a reward!
  • The business name and location have been added to the “Upcoming Appointments” page on a Patient’s profile.
  • We fixed a bug on the wait list that was displaying all entries, even those for deleted businesses. Now, only Patients who are waiting for appointments at existing businesses will be shown!
  • We added fixed-amount discounts! Now you can enter a dollar amount as well as a percentage for any items you’d like to discount.
  • We’ve added an optional permission for Receptionists and Power Receptionists to be able to view file attachments.
  • Treatment note templates now display in alphabetical order, as opposed to being ordered by date of creation.
  • We’ve added the “closed” date to the Invoices Data Export — now you can know when an invoice was marked as closed!
  • You’re now able to download all of your invoices from Cliniko purchases (like subscription fees and SMS purchases) directly from your Cliniko account!
  • We’re now sharing unsupported browser warnings on the login page, so you can know straightaway whether the browser you’re on needs to be updated!
  • We added some internal improvements to the Data Exports. While not visible to the naked eye, these improvements will assist in the generation process of the exports.

Whew, that was quite the update on updates! As summer comes to a close for some of us (and winter ends for others), we’re excited to continue to improve Cliniko and add some awesome new features.

As always, you can stay up-to-date with new features and changes on our Updates and Changes forum!

Until next time,

Emily
